Helped me think about how my passion, my stengths can lead to my long-term life mission

Hello everyone- My name is Zilong or Z! I am an actuary by trade and entrepreneur at heart. I want to share with you my experience working with Nemo in the past few years.

I started working with Nemo when I was still a college student studying actuarial science at Temple University in Philadelphia. I was part of his Actuarial Journey mastermind group / accountability group.

Through that group, I received three very important things that helped me to become a Society of Actuaries Associate (ASA), right now.

  • Motivation

A lot of times stuff, especially taking exams, are hard things. It’s very hard to motivate yourself to do the extra work outside a long day of studying or working. That’s what I could provided to me. Having a group of people motivated to accomplish a common goal gave me an extra push to study more and to work harder.

  • Accountability

Through the mastermind group accountability and also the encouragement of Nemo, I was able to keep working at it day-in, day-out. That persistent effort is very important because we all know what to do, but actually doing it is difficult. So I think accountability is what get things done.

  • Resources

He provided to everyone in that group a wealth of resources. He constantly brings on guest speakers, as well as, knowledge he learned from reading or from his work experience. I think that resources are important in my personal and professional development journey.

Something else I want to stress is Nemo is a Possibility coach.

What I mean by that is Nemo helped me to see what’s possible and sometimes what he saw in me were things I hadn’t seen myself. He’s a great listener with a huge compassionate heart.

He is able to help me to unearth my interests and my strengths, and help me to think about how my strength and my passion can lead to my long-term life mission. To me, that is to make a difference.

But making a difference is very vague term. He helped me to reverse-engineer my goal and break that big weight and big goals into smaller actionable steps. I see that to be very valuable. Let’s face it – this journey of pursuing excellence is a lonely journey.  I’m very grateful for Nemo being part of that journey – helping me to walk farther and walk faster. Thank You Nemo!

I would recommend Nemo to anyone who is willing to take their professional and personal development to the next level!
