One of the biggest barriers to feeling included and belonging in a new field is language, which in the professional/tech world, often translates to jargon, industry or role -specific words and phrases, and acronyms.

- Launch – Milestone characterized by the release a product, survey, feature, or other type of deliverable to the intended audience.
(Variation include: soft launch which typically means eithera) releasing to a small segment within the target user or
b) making the deliverable available to all without a large announcement to gather additional feedback, testimonials, and observe actual behavior).

- Ship it – Informal phrase used to generally indicate approval to a) deliver the product to the end user or b) go ahead and implement the solution
- UX – A shorthand acroymn for the term “User Experience” which generally focuses on enhancing usability and usefulness for the end user by leveraging design thinking and elements.
